Seeking an advanced practice nurse with Hospice and/or Palliative Care experience. The ideal candidate possesses experience in the Acute Care Setting and understands how to navigate processes associated with serving as specialty service. This NP will build strong relationships with the physician team and within the local physician practice settings to identify and appropriately mediate care for the chronically ill and/or terminally ill patient. This NP will provide care for patients in the community setting, as the need arises, post discharge from the acute care setting.
Hospice and/or Palliative Care experience as a registered nurse and/or NP
Must have acute care experience and/or experience with internal medicine as an advanced practice nurse
If not Nationally Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care, will do so within one year of hire date.
Vice President of Clinical Services
This position directs the overall clinical operations of hospice (routine and inpatient) and palliative care. Responsible for leading and managing the organization’s programs according to approved policies, procedures and standards. Responsible for oversight of the clinical education program.
Requirements: RN with an active license in good standing. BSN required, Masters preferred. Minimum experience 3 years in management/supervision.
PRN Nurses & CNA's
Burke Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking qualified Nurses and CNA's to work with our patients on an as-needed basis. Candidates may work in homes, community facilities, or our own Hospice House.
RN Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current North Carolina Registered Nurse License. Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the delivery of nursing services in Hospice, Home Health or Hospital Medical Surgical, preferably five (5) years. Exceptional clinical skills, compassion and true concern for the care of the dying and their families. Excellent communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and adapt well to change.
CNA Requirements: NC-approved Certified Nursing Assistant I or II certification, II preferred. Currently on State Home Health Aide Registry as having satisfactorily completed training course and/or competency testing which qualifies him/her to do home health aide work in a Medicare certified hospice. High school graduate or equivalency required. Minimum of one (1) year experience in health care; two (2) years experience preferred.
